In this worksheet, we will focus on the final goal of your research and the ultimate reason for academic communication: the publication. After completing this worksheet, you will have a better understanding of academic journals, the impact factor, and style sheets.

:-\ Do the self-test on the webpage of the Kenyon College, Ohio and find out how much you know about the structure of a scientific paper.

:-\ First of all, prepare a table. Put sections, tense and reason in the first row and abstract, introduction, methods, discussion and results under the word sections in the first column of the table. In a second step, do a web search and look for missing information in the table you already prepared. Which tenses are used in a scientific article? Match the tenses to the different sections and note why this tense is used. For example:
